We went to the hall on Monday at 2 o'clock not really knowing what the show was going to be all about. We had a great time. The actors were really good and they made us join in and be part of the show. There was the story of Hansel and Gretel and Goldilocks a king, a princess
and a detective who was a cat and Justin Baby Bearber who was kidnapped!!!! It was all really busy and the 3 actors played all the roles.
We are using this blog to keep everyone up to date with what is happening in our room.

Nature of Science
We were heading up to the Community Garden to talk with Mr Tozer who is in charge up there and we decided to look at the soil types that are there.
We found out that there are two main types....acid and alkaline. Some plants prefer one type and some plants grow better in the other type.
We read that if you put white vinegar and water mixed in with the soil sample and it bubbles then your soil is more likely to be acid and if the soil with baking soda and water bubbles its more likely to be alkaline. So we tried and it wasn't very exciting!!!We were expecting a major reaction and all we got was a little bubbling. We decided thar the community garden soil from the part we tested was more likely to be slightly acid.
Jandals and Poems
We wrote holiday poems about all the things we saw, smelt, touched and did over the holidays. They were really good . We designed our super colourful jandals and dyed these bright colour so it all looks summery and bright . Come in and read our poems.

Who are scientists and what do they do?
S2 has been discussing who we think scientists are . We decided that whenever we observe carefully and discuss openly and use scientific language that we are behaving like scientists.
We started by observing plants and looking closely at details.

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and S2 all have something in common?????
We have been playing tennis every day so far and it is amazing to see how quickly we are improving. We were lucky to get 2 days of instruction from Alan too.He brought along lots of tennis racquets and had some fun games for us. Our forehands are working well and now we are going to look at controlling where the ball goes a little more!!
