Frosty start to the day!!

On Thursday there was quite a heavy frost and it was also the day that the school's heating decided to misbehave and come on a little later than usual!! Some children came to school at the normal time while others waited until the day had warmed up a little. Rata and Bella went bravely out into the frost and took some photos. The class voted on the ones that they liked the best and here they are....

Loving our Library

Every Thursday Room S2 gets to enjoy our new library space. There are cushions and bean bags to sit on and its nice and peaceful.

Finding out about fractions

We have started learning all about fractions. Mrs Evans-Weir made some play dough and we each got some to cut into different fractions. We now know that the number on the bottom of a fraction is the denominator and that tells us how many pieces a whole is cut into. The number on the top of the fraction is the piece that you are colouring in, or working with.

Netball

Miss Cooper has been working with us on our netball skills. We are getting much better at finding space and also watching that we don't step with the ball. Its fun having competitions to see who can get the most goals1

Classification

We were being scientists in S2 and classifying objects. Rata told us that classifying means grouping things together that have something in common.
We classified buttons first and our groups were colours, size, number of holes, light and dark and shiny and dull.
The animals were grouped into mammals and non mammals, paws, claws and hooves. Then someone suggested habitats and fur or feathers. It was all good learning as well as being fun to do.

Final Soccer

We have finished our soccer lessons and we think we are all a lot more skilled now. Miss Cooper has been taking us for netball and we have been playing hockey so we feel we have winter sports sorted!!!

Here are some examples of ways we have seen information  presented.
